          Outstanding Placemaking Award

          This category aims to celebrate the best commercial or commercial-led, mixed-use development scheme that has regenerated or physically improved the built environment on and around a particular site, disused building or location. The award is aimed at private-sector and public-private projects, including mixed-use but NOT pure residential. These projects might have bought land, buildings or localities back into sustainable economic use or created a built environment that changes the perception or use of a location. Projects or initiatives still at the planning stage are not eligible.

It is also open to building surveyors, firms that provide planning/development or environmental advice and practices that are strong in arbitration, claims, expert witness or legal services. It is not open to facilities management organisations or other property advisers.

                ED&I Initiative of the year

                This award recognises an individual, team or organisation that has demonstrated exemplary commitment to promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) both within your business and across the industry as a whole over the past 12 months.

                Entries are open to organisations dedicated to promoting EDI as well as property organisations that have undertaken specific EDI initiatives. Entries are also welcome from partnerships between the two types of organisation.

                We are seeking programme that go beyond rhetoric, embodying real efforts to drive positive change and foster an inclusive workplace and industry culture. Judges will be looking to see tangible change that has moved the dial with EDI, either through cultural change or workforce diversity.

                Has your organisation succeeded in broadening participation in EDI initiatives beyond individuals with a personal reason to engage? And has your programme succeeded in challenging or overturning negative behaviours, skepticism or cynicism?

                • Championing Diversity

                Has your organisation taken steps to highlight the benefits of EDI programmes, the achievements of under-represented groups, or undertaken other activities designed to promote understanding, celebrate diversity and encourage all stakeholders to bring their true selves to work.

                • Measurable Impact

                Judges will be looking for measurable impact on the business or the wider community. This could be shown through increased representation, improved workplace satisfaction, or positive community engagement demonstrated through testimonials.

                Health and Wellbeing Initiative

                The health and wellbeing award aims to celebrate the organisation or individual that has done the most in the past year to support the health and wellbeing of staff, occupiers or the local community.

                We are looking for an exemplary initiative, scheme or project that has raised the bar in terms of health and wellbeing. Has your building achieved a WELL certification and/or best-in-class environmental accreditation standard rating (e.g. BREEAM, LEED, SKA)? Have you done something ground-breaking to support the health and wellbeing of your staff or occupiers? Perhaps you have prioritised health and wellbeing features in a new scheme. Have you worked collaboratively on a community-focused project aimed at enhancing community health and wellbeing?

                Sustainability Initiative

                Over the past few years, climate change has rocketed to the top of the agenda, fuelled by the UK government’s target to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2050 – one of the most ambitious carbon targets in the world.

                We want to celebrate the ground-breaking work the commercial real estate sector is doing to tackle the climate crisis and improve the sector’s environmental credentials.

                This award is aimed at organisations and individuals working in the commercial real estate sector that have implemented, completed or committed to a transformative ESG or climate-focused scheme, strategy or initiative in the past year.

A partnership between the two types of organisation is also eligible, The emphasis is on tangible results from innovative or game-changing initiatives implemented in the past 12 months.
